Helping Your Business With Google Alerts
My own staff knows more about my affiliate’s website than my actual affiliates do. They’ve set Google alerts, they keep close track of what they are marketing, how they are marketing it, and we make sure that we keep close track of it so they know they’re not doing anything wrong. There were FTC actions against companies where their affiliate marketers have made bogus promises or pretended to do evaluations etc. so you need to be responsible and keep an eye on what your affiliate marketers are doing and make sure you provide for that within your stipulations.
I’ll be showing you and event where I almost got ripped off by an affiliate and I’m going to share this to help you avoid the same thing from happening to you.
Affiliate Manager?
One thing you may want to think about is an affiliate supervisor. If you are not strong in sales or marketing or creating partnerships or sales writing or managing projects, then you probably need an affiliate manager.
An affiliate manager will typically take a percentage override on anybody he introduces and all of the sales they make. It could be 3% or 5% or 10%. You shouldn’t pay an expense unless it’s a huge launch. An affiliate manager needs to be connected with groups of affiliate marketers, they should be able to compose good email copy, they should be networkers, and they should be able to help broadcast new things released.
